Yesterday there was a little accident in our new bathroom. My flatmate was alone at home at that time. She turned the faucet on to pour some water, but then she just couldn"t turn it off! Now, we managed to turn the main valve off. We"ve been living without water for twelve hours. I bought some drinking water, but I guess we"ll want to take a shower in the evening so something must be done about the faucet. My flatmate"s boyfriend knows a lot about such things and he advised me to buy a hexagon socket screw key. We visited a large shopping centre and bought some keys, but they were unfortunately too big for this kind of faucet. I asked all my neighbours if they could borrow me a smaller one but they don"t have it, either. Finally, I bought one in a small shop hidden somewhere round the corner of my street (I had never noticed the shop before). We"re now trying to fix the tap. It"s difficult because my new bathroom is quite small and dark. One person is holding a torch and the other one is tampering with the tap. We"re taking turns. As soon as I get my next salary, I"m going to buy a better tap. Sometimes it"s better to spend more money just to make sure things don"t get broken all of a sudden. I guess that if my flatmate"s reaction was not that quick yesterday, the hall and the bedroom floors would be all wet, too.
